Review: Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shampoo & Conditioner
Price: $6-8 each at drugstores
I’m not gonna go into the pros and cons of this duo. Instead I’ll just go right ahead and tell you my honest opinions and experience with it.
First I wanna say that I used this duo for about a two months or so. I didn’t use up all of both bottles because of, well, you’ll see why in this review.. But these are my final thoughts on the duo. Also note that I have thin-thick hair and my hair does get quite greasy within two days of not washing it.
This product is a gimmick. I have to admit, within probably the first few weeks of using it (keep in mind I wash my hair every other day) I had seen positive results in my hair. I saw that my hair was less greasy than usual, and it significantly felt stronger than before. It also made my hair shiny which is a first because I haven’t had that effect after using any other shampoo and conditioner duo in the past.
As I continued to use the products, probably a month to a month and a half into it,  I noticed that my hair started feeling really dried out and almost crispy. I also started to experience a lot of fall out when washing my hair.. and since I know that hair is in its weakest state when it’s wet, I knew that it had to be the products that I was using that was causing this to happen. I started to have a TON of fall out.. a lot more than I usually do.
The consistency/texture of the shampoo isn’t at all like your normal shampoo. It’s like a non-creamy gel.. I don’t know how to explain it lol. It feels like jello basically and it makes it hard to spread throughout your hair. You can just tell it doesn’t have that hydrating factor that most shampoos have. I suppose the reason for that is because it’s sulfate & sodium free, which I can understand. It produces a thin lather but my hair doesn’t feel nice after rinsing it out. It felt very stripped of its natural oils.
The conditioner doesn’t do much justice even in cooperation with the shampoo. Its texture lacks the thickness that most conditioners usually have. It’s more of a cream. Not what I expect out of a conditioner at all. It’s easy to comb through my hair, but after about 3-5 minutes of leaving it in then washing it out of your hair, my hair didn’t feel much different. It felt as if it barely added any hydration to my hair.
The only thing I absolutely love about this product is the scent. It leaves a nice warm, coconut-vanilla type of scent in your hair. I used up a lot of the conditioner just for the smell lol…
I don’t recommend this duo based on my experience with it. I’m now back to using my L’Oreal EverStrong Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner (which btw I stopped using just to try out this product -__-) which is 10 times better and my favorite shampoo and conditioner to date.
