Mario Badescu Special Glycolic Cleansing Lotion
Just purchased from eBay. I’ve heard so many great reviews about this product and I can’t wait to try it. I’m still on the hunt for a product that will help reduce hyperpigmentation and acne scars and I’ve always known that Mario Badescu products are super effective. This cleanser’s “..formulation helps reduce dead skin cell build-up in the pores while it promotes cell turnover for clear, radiant skin”. It has glycolic acid which gets rid of surface skin while helping reduce scarring and also grapefruit extract which helps with the antioxidants that your skin needs to stay healthy.

Q:I plan to use nose pore strips. How often do you think i should use them and what do i do after i've used them? do i apply a serum or anything? I've heard if you use pore strips too much, you're pores will become larger, is this true?

Anonymous

Use them only once a week, no more than that because it could be damaging. Same for peel-off facial masks. After you use a pore strip, just be sure to rinse off any leftover residue and then moisturize because the area that you’ve applied the strip will feel a little sensitive. & no, your pores will not become larger if you use them too much. You just want to avoid using them too often because it really is bad for your skin and could cause more irritation.

Lip Serum/Conditioner > Lip Balm

Befine Food Skin Care Lip Serum (on the right)

MAC Lip Conditioner Hydratant

Why are these better than lip balms?

While balms will just sit on top of your lips, these will sink into them and are more effective toward the overall health and appearance of your lips. Not only do they lock in the moisture and condition your lips with more vitamins, they will also act as the perfect moisturizer prior to lipstick application. Exfoliate your lips, use a lip serum or conditioner, wait about a minute for it to sink in, kiss the back of your hand to get rid of excess moisture, then apply your lip product! ;) Use these more than lip balms. They’re more worth it!

Q:Hi there! I have huge visible pores and a skin condition that leaves my face incredibly red. I feel like I have to layer on my foundation (Revlon Colorstay) and my concealer (Hard Candy Glamoflauge) to even come close to a normal skin tone. I was wondering if you had any tips or maybe product suggestions for me so that I can reduce the size of my pores and the redness of my face? Thank you in advance. <3

Hello! I would suggest first and foremost that you take proper care of your skin before worrying about wearing any makeup. You’re only making your skin worse by clogging your pores with so much products. Makeup contains chemicals that, depending on your skin, can cause you to break out and react differently to.

From what you told me it seems like you have sensitive, acne prone skin if I’m not mistaken. I would suggest that you cleanse and tone your face daily with a gentle alcohol-free facial cleanser and toner. This will help prevent oil build-up and help restore your skin to a better pH level and gets rid of any leftover residue. Also be sure to moisturize. It’ll help with calming your skin down from irritation that the cleanser may have left. And with SPF in it it will help from sunburn/damage which can also cause more redness. You should also invest in a great facial mask that is designed to help cleanse and shrink your pores. Those you can find at the drugstore.

I suggest that if you prefer wearing medium-full coverage foundation that you don’t wear it on a daily basis just because it’s best to let your skin rest from all that chemicals put on it. And I know that Revlon ColorStay especially has a load of chemicals put in it. I would try Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin foundation instead, being that that foundation is more water-based and healthier for your skin. I understand that you suffer from redness, but unfortunately I don’t really have any tips to get rid of it with just makeup :/ hope things work out!! <3

Q:Hey! I've checked your FAQs and there aren't anything on oily skin... so I'm not sure if you know what can help, but I was wondering if you know any ways to control it? :( Like any lotions or products that can control oiliness (other than face powder or blotting sheets!) - Thanks in advance :D x

Sure! Here are some tips:

-Before applying any makeup, make sure to cleanse your face thoroughly with a facial cleanser and tone with a toner (Dickinson’s Witch Hazel is amazing for oily skin) right after. This will get rid of any excess oil buildup and residue on your face. Don’t forget to moisturize with a moisturizer with at least SPF 15.

-Always prime your t-zone with a good face primer! This will help mattify your oily areas and create a barrier between your skin and foundation.

-Make sure you’re using a foundation that is formulated for oily skin (i.e. Revlon Colorstay, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra, Maybelline SuperStay).

-Drink tons of water. It’ll help with your pH levels and flush out toxins.
